Roland and Marianne meet at a barbecue and become romantically involved. Roland is a beekeeper and Marianne a cosmologist, who often waxes poetic about cosmology, quantum mechanics, string theory and the belief that there are multiple universes that pull people’s lives in various directions.

A confession of infidelity causes them to break up, but some time later they run in to each other, resume their relationship and marry. But Marianne begins to forget words, and is told by her doctor that she has a tumor and has less than a year to live…

“A modern classic. Brilliant, beautiful theatre, from any angle.” I News
